Youth - BBQ Tonight & Alpha Refresh
Youth is starting up again tonight (September 30)! Students in Grades 6-12 are welcome. It will be a fun-filled evening with a barbecue, Youth Alpha kick-off and games. Plus, two other churches in the area will be joining us! As usual, Youth happens from 7-9 PM on the 2nd and 4th Friday of every month. In order to make room in the parking lot on Sunday mornings, we encourage congregants to consider parking across the street at Thistletown Collegiate before the morning service.
Get Equipped and be Volunteer-Ready!
At RAC, one of the requirements to volunteer with children, youth and vulnerable adults is our Safe Church Online Training. We are offering a special in-person training in lieu of the usual online training. Whether you are currently volunteering or not, you haven’t done the training or it has expired, you are invited to participate! Please click HERE for more information and to register.

| Young Adults Faith & Career Night There will be a Faith and Career event at The Well Ministry Hub, 55 Costa Rd, Vaughan on Sat on Oct 8 from 8-10 PM! Young adults will be taught how to, with God's help, develop positive vision and overcome negative ones. The participants will leave this session in the possession of tools helping them tap into God-power and develop positive vision and positive expectations. They will also receive some free resources about how to boldly follow Jesus in the workplace. See you there! If you need a ride or can provide one, please contact: youngadults@rexdalealliance.ca. |
Life Groups

Baptism Class
There will be a Baptism Class on Wed., Oct.19 from 7:30–9 PM on Zoom! Baptism is an outward sign of the inner transformation of faith in Jesus and the decision to follow Him. Congregational Update—Sept 30/22
Investigation and Recommendations Implementation Committee
The Committee has been meeting regularly throughout the spring and summer reviewing the recommendations. Some of the work that has been done is as follows:
1. RAC internal policies are being reviewed and enhanced to integrate the recommendations including creating a Whistleblower Policy and an abuse reporting process.
2. Curated a list of resources to help with training leaders in trauma and abuse. Resources included reading material, podcasts and videos focusing on helping RAC become a more trauma informed church.
3. Facilitated a training day in Sept 2022 for RAC leaders led by a professional therapist who specializes in trauma care. Discussion currently ongoing about holding a follow up event to continue our learning journey.
4. Safe Church program reviewed following the recommendations. Policy to be expanded to address more area of concern and abuse.
The work that is ongoing includes:
1. Working to establish the materials and resources that would become required trauma training for all staff and lay ministry leaders at RAC.
2. Creating opportunities for congregational involvement—providing opportunities for healing from individual and corporate trauma, acknowledging our past and current culture deficits that need to change to create a more trauma aware church, providing opportunities for lament, confirming the Church abuse reporting process and providing a list of counselling and healing resources.

SERVICE AND PRAYER OPPORTUNITIES
